“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Joe Cascio, on Thursday 23 July. He was known to many of you as Joe the Barber, who used to own and run Joe’s Continental Barber at Midway.
For nearly five decades, Joe had the privilege of watching generation after generation walk through his barber shop door. To him, you were never just customers—you were friends.
Known affectionately as the man of a thousand smiles, Joe had an extraordinary gift for making people feel welcome. His warm smile, kind heart, and endless supply of jokes brightened the day of everyone who sat in his chair.
Our family would like to thank you for embracing Joe and for allowing him to be part of your lives. While our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that his kindness, laughter, and the friendships he formed will never be forgotten.”
